The NSW Chapter of ASIS International invites you to join us to recognise Women in Security for International Women's Day. This evening event will celebrate the incredible women who have found success within the security industry, in both the Corporate and Government sectors. In this panel style discussion, we will gain amazing insights into their experiences, their challenges and ultimately how they found real success and ensured the continued diversity within our industry.

Anna-Maria Rochester, Senior Manager, Crisis Management Capability, Westpac Group 

Anna-Maria is currently employed by Westpac Group. Her role is developing the Group’s crisis management capabilities with the main focus on the Group Executive Team and assisting in the actual Crisis Management response team. She has a background in national crisis management, coordinating Swedish Government agencies during crisis events. She has also managed a national situation centre and has been an advisor to humanitarian projects in risk environments.

Anna-Maria has a strong interest in the behavioural parts of crisis management and security. She believes that we often put a lot of resources into creating great structures and processes, but often forget about the people who are going to work within those structures. She has also conducted research on hostage negotiators and their capability to perform under pressure.

Jane Harris, Facility Support Coordinator, Campbelltown City Council

Jane Harris is currently employed as the Facility Support Coordinator at Campbelltown City Council. This position is responsible for the operational management of Security and Cleaning arrangements for over 100 buildings and 80 public amenities. Jane also coordinates the delivery of a series of systems including Access Control and key management, networked CCTV and Street CCTV throughout Campbelltown and Ingleburn.

Jane manages a team of four which, under her guidance, have transformed from a reactive culture to a proactive one embracing collaborative problem solving and continuous improvement. Jane commenced her current role late 2016 having previously worked as an administrative assistant for the team. Jane embraced the steep learning curve required to be able to effectively direct staff and contractors to modernise Councils security equipment and culture.

Carla Liedtke, Director, Australia Pacific, Control Risks

Carla Liedtke is a director based in Control Risks’ Sydney office. Carla works with clients in a variety of sectors including financial services, education, infrastructure, transport and logistics to advise them on a range of investigative, compliance, political risk analysis, and crisis and security projects. She also leads all work with Control Risks’ clients in Australia and New Zealand in the area of cyber security advisory.

\Carla worked for many years assisting clients in the area of areas of compliance, forensics and intelligence. She assisted clients to gather business intelligence on business partners, counterparties and employees; and to develop and implement robust compliance programmes.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Carla worked as an intelligence analyst for the New South Wales Crime Commission, working on criminal investigations. She conducted extensive work in the areas of firearms-related crime, ethnic gangs, the manufacture and distribution of illicit drugs, money laundering and unsolved murder investigations.

Brenna Guiney, Director, Independent Security Professionals

Brenna Guiney, Director at Independent Security Professionals, is a Security Consultant as well as a Sociologist and Social Impact Practitioner. With this combination, she leads the Social Impact Consulting at Independent Security Professionals to bring an understanding of how people will perceive, behave and respond to security and technology strategies to her projects. She has previously conducted extensive research into the sociological reasons behind criminal, antisocial and terrorist behaviour, and the implications that mechanisms of security have on individuals within social and corporate situations. Brenna has also conducted research into non-criminal behaviour and social phenomenon such as human interaction, stakeholder management and engagement, change management, social engagement with physical spaces, and social policy impacts on minority groups. Her Social Impact clients have ranged from leading Universities and financial institutions, to major government departments where her work has guided key operational and political strategies.
